Why 9T1?

Hi, my name is Steven and I'm a passionate graphic designer currently learning my trade within the signage industry - working towards becoming a freelance designer in the future.  I've always been a creative person, however for whatever reason after I finished studying graphic design in high school I didn't kick on and pursue that career path. In 2012 I moved to the most beautiful place in the world - Perth, Australia - and at that stage still hadn't figured out what I wanted to do, so I ended up working in retail for a couple of years. Although I made some great friends there I would never work in retail again!  It wasn't until years later when I found myself designing that I realised my dormant passion once more, this came about as my love for gaming led me to jump on the YouTube and Twitch craze. Designing logos and banners for my channel and creating artwork for thumbnails fast became my favourite part of the journey and my career path became clearer to see (and it wasn't becoming a YouTube sensation). When I heard a friend required an extra hand with his growing signage company I jumped at the chance! I am now set to complete my last year of an apprenticeship in signwriting, and already have 3 years experience in the trade. The opportunity to work in the signage industry has been a very positive life change for me, pursuing a career that you truly enjoy makes everyday enjoyable and gives a sense of fulfillment. I'm thoroughly looking forward to what the future holds, and will be taking every chance I can to continue learning to improve my skills and knowledge.
